Scoliosis

It’s estimated that 4% of all children between the ages of 10 and 14 have detectable scoliosis with about 60 to 80% of all cases occurring in adolescent girls. Most people with scoliosis have barely noticeable curvatures.

Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. Conditions range from mild to severe and in many cases the abnormalities are visually apparent. Scoliosis may either be genetically based or result from a degenerative joint condition in the spine. Most commonly, it will be a cumulative effect of these two factors.

Despite the seriousness of the condition, many individuals with scoliosis may experience no apparent symptoms other than vague muscle back pain and stiffness.

Signs of potential concern

Uneven hips and waist resulting in escalating discomfort. A deformity in the chest causing uneven shoulder blades and a rib hump Shoulders are different heights and one shoulder blade is more prominent unevenness to breasts entire body leans to one side.

The effect of KKT® on scoliosis

KKT® is a non-invasive scoliosis treatment that can be used to override the body’s internal sensory defenses and relax the surrounding muscles. These muscles can contract asymmetrically depending on the magnitude of the spinal curve and eventually lead to visual’s in postural imbalances. Because the curved (scoliotic) spine compresses and rotates three-dimensionally, it must be clinically treated in such a manner as to correct the rotation. By repositioning the vertebrae to a more natural position and re-balancing the spine, early disease correction and prevention of a hyper rotated state is achieved. The KKT® process also plays an integral role in stimulating the connective tissues of the spine to promote cellular regeneration.

The full treatment program also includes specifically prescribed dynamic spine mobilization exercises, which assist the KKT® process.

KKT® takes an active rather than passive approach to treatment. Where traditional treatment allows patients to become dependent on their braces and potentially deteriorate into muscular atrophy and weakness, often leading to surgery, KKT® allows greater mobility, immediate spinal corrections and the time to regenerate unbalanced muscles, joints and bones.

Osteoarthritis

A report from the Journal of the American Medical Association says that arthritis is now the “leading cause of disability in the United States.” This statistic is reflected in many parts of the world.

What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis, also referred to as degenerative joint disease or spondyloarthritis, is the most common form of arthritis. Osteoarthritis occurs when cartilage in the joints begins to wear down. Cartilage plays a critical role in cushioning the area between the joints.

Osteoarthritis can affect any joint in the body, although it most commonly affects joints in the spine, hands, hips and knees. Several joints may be affected.

Although most people consider osteoarthritis to be inevitable during one’s lifetime, proper clinical management and treatment with KKT® suggests that we may be able to stall, if not reverse, the impact of this deteriorating condition.

Our longer life span has made osteoarthritis an ever more common condition.   Maintaining a precisely balanced body can preserve mobility and slow down or even reverse the elements of degeneration.

Why is spinal Osteoarthritis more of a concern?

Unlike any other region of the body the spine, when afflicted by osteoarthritis or any other injury or disease, impacts our very core. This is due to the intimate relationship the spine has with the central nervous system (i.e. spinal cord and brain)

Before the age of 45, osteoarthritis occurs more frequently in males. After the age of 55 years it occurs more frequently in females. A recent study detected osteoarthritis in 10% of children under the age of ten.

Once considered to be age-related and normal, studies as well as the clinical research at KKT® are helping to guide and show the importance of early diagnosis and treatment can reduce the impact of the lifelong limitations associated with the disease. The presence of spinal degeneration, spondylosis or arthritis signifies that the noted pain is a result of damage having occurred a long time ago.

Signs of potential concern

  1.  Grating or cracking sensation on movement of the head, neck and joints
  2.  Limited movement or stiffness in the neck or lower back
  3.  General feeling of stiffness
  4.  Stiffness in morning prior to hot shower or movement
  5.  Overall loss in flexibility
  6.  Pain in the neck and back as well as other joints for more than six weeks
  7.  General feeling or sensation of getting shorter

If you have any of these symptoms or related concerns, please schedule a visit to KKT® Qatar for a thorough assessment.

Spondylitis and spinal degeneration

Spinal Spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily causes pain and inflammation of the joints between the vertebrae of the spine. Spondylitis may also cause inflammation and in other parts of the body.

Signs of potential concern

Early signs and symptoms of spondylitis may include:

I.        Chronic pain in the neck or lower back and hips, especially in the morning and after periods of inactivity

II.       Stiffness in the lower back or hip area

As the condition progresses, one may experience inflammation and pain in other parts of the body: The area where tendons and ligaments attached to bones, joints between the ribs and spine joints in the hips, shoulders, knees and feet.

In advanced stages, the following signs and symptoms may develop:

  1.  Restricted expansion of the chest
  2.  Chronic stooping
  3.  Stiff, inflexible spine
  4.  Fatigue
  5.  Loss of appetite
  6.  Weight loss
  7.  Eye inflammation (uveitis)
  8.  Bowel inflammation

If you have any of these symptoms or related concerns, please schedule a visit to KKT® Qatar for a thorough assessment
